(A folk tale from Greece)

A gaunt Wolf was almost dead with hunger when he happened to meet a Housedog who was passing by. “Ah, cousin,” said the Dog, “I knew how it would be; your irregular life will soon be the ruin of you. Why do you not work steadily as I do, and get your food regularly given to you?”

“I would have no objection,” said the Wolf, “if I could only get a place.”

“I will easily arrange that for you,” said the Dog; “Come with me to my master and you shall share my work.”

The Spider and the Beehive

Once upon a time, there was a small African village. In it, lived a little boy and a tricky spider. The spider thought he was smarter than everyone else.

The boy had a special talent! He was able to find the biggest, sweetest fruit in all the jungle.

One day the spider was hungry, so he asked the boy, “Will you take me to the best plums?” The boy agreed.

They walked deep into the jungle to the boy’s favorite plum tree. The spider fell greedy. He ate up every single plum and did not share any!

There is a ring of truth in that well known saying “A man is what he eats” Food is a form of fuel. It gives us energy, helps us to grow, resist disease and form strong teeth and bones. No single food can take care of all our body’s needs.
