Mongolian political
structure
Communists
gained control of the Mongolian government in 1921, the Communist party became
Mongolia’s only political party. In 1990 Mongolia adopted a democratic
multiparty system of government. The Communist party broke up, and new parties were formed. In 1992, after much
debate, a radical new constitution was enacted. The new parliament is known as
the Great Hural and has a total of 76 seats. The president serves a four year
term and must be at least 45 years of age. The first president was Ochirbat.
The president is the head of the armed forces and nominates the Prime Minister,
who carries out the day to day operations of government. The 76 members of the
Great Hural makes decisions regarding domestic and foreign affairs.
Mongolia
is a democratic country with multiparty system. The main political parties are
the Mongolian People’s party, the Democratic Party, and the Mongolian People’s
Republican party
The
Great Hural and President are elected by the general public for four years.
During the public vote the political parties compete to win the most seats in
the Great Hural.
Economics
Understanding
individual markets: demand and supply
A
market is any institution or arrangement
which brings buyers and sellers of some product of service together.
Demand
refers to a schedule which summarizes the willingness of buyers to purchase a
given product during a specific time period at each of the various prices at
which it might be sold. According to the law of demand, consumers will
ordinarily buy more of a product at a low price than they will at a high price.
Therefore, other things being equal, the relationship between price and
quantity demanded is negative or inverse and demand graphs as a down sloping
curve.
Supply
is a schedule showing the amounts of a product which producers would be willing
to offer in the market during a given time period at each possible price at
which the commodity might be sold. The law of supply says that, other things
being equal, producers will offer more of a product at a high price than they
will at a low price. As a result, the relationship between price and quantity
supplied is a direct one, and the supply curve is upsloping.
